Mission and Values

The purpose of our ministry at Faith Community Church is to assist each individual in becoming mature in Christ. We are called to make disciples and to present every man perfect (mature) in Christ. These nine characteristics are one way a person demonstrates growth toward maturity.  At Faith Community we want to help each individual to demonstrate the following nine characteristics of a growing follower of Jesus. 

The 9 Characteristics of a Growing Christian 

1. Grace:               I can give a clear testimony of having responded to God's Grace.    Eph. 2:8-9

 2. Growth:           I am committed to growing spiritually. I am involved in personal Bible study, prayer,

ministry to others and general faithfulness to the Lord. 2 Peter 3:18

3. Gifts:                I know (am seeking to know) and employ my spiritual gifts in ministry to others.  

1 Peter 4:10

 4. Giving:             I give financially to Faith Community Church in accordance with the biblical principles

of stewardship. 2 Cor. 8

 5. Groups:             I belong to a small group (Team) {or am willing to} through which I am learning to live

for God and serve Him and others. Acts 5:42

6. Gathering:         I regularly attend worship and make it my habit to participate in the Lord's

Supper. Acts 5:42

 7. Guidance:         I am willing to follow the Lord's direction in my life. I know how to be Spirit filled

(controlled) and I am willing to follow the direction of the leadership of Faith

Community Church of God. Acts 5:29-32; Heb. 13:17

 8. Glory:               I exist for the glory of God. Not the other way around. 

(Isa. 43:6-7; 1 Cor. 10:31; Col. 1:10, Eph. 1:12)

9. Global:              I am willing to use my time and resources to help bring the message of Jesus to every

people group on earth. God's plan for my life (and this church) involves more than my

personal relationship with Him but includes bringing a witness to every people group

on earth. (Gen. 12:3; Heb. 6:13-19; Matt. 28:18-20; Rom 1:5)
